What is the mid-market rate?
It's the midpoint between the buy and sell prices of two currencies on global markets, the rate you see on Google or Reuters. Montra quotes start from it and add one visible fee.
Where do these rates come from?
This page uses free daily mid-market data from the open currency-api project, with ExchangeRate-API as a backup. The source and date are shown under each table.
Why might my bank show a different naira rate?
Banks usually add a margin of 2 to 4% to the rate and sometimes quote a different market window. The difference is the hidden cost Montra shows you up front.
How often do the rates update?
The underlying data publishes daily, and this page checks for new rates every 30 minutes while it's open. Inside a Montra account, quotes refresh continuously.
